Egocentricism

     These pages are all about the cranky, grumpy old fart who did these pages and most of the art here. So, if this sort of twaddle doesn't interest you, head on back and look at the pictures, they're probably a lot more interesting anyway.

     I was born, and remain as yet, a citizen of Canada, that big bit of the world to the north of the United States that hasn't become a state yet, for some reason. More specifically, I was born in Quebec, about 60 miles east of Montreal, in a tiny little town called Stanbridge East. Don't bother looking for it. It's still there, but unless you have small-scale topographical maps, you're not going to find it. Population of three hundred, and yes, back when I lived there I was related to most of the town by marriage or bloodline. Interestingly, after a number of years, all of my direct family, save myself, are now once again living within 100 miles of that very same town. In the intervening years, I've also lived in Montreal, and in Sunnyvale, California.
     Currently, I live in Central New Jersey, about an hour outside New York City (depending on Jersey traffic, of course). My residence is a lovely old 13-room Victorian, which I share with my wife, Anastasia, and my house-mates , Ken "Coug'r" Sample, and his wife Lisa "Micole" Sample. Not to mention my wife's eight cats and numerous ferrets. I currently work as a sales counsellor for a major appliance and electronics chain in the New Jersey and new York area. I won't go into the gruesome details here, but once again, I'm sort of lacking in time for art and all the other things I usual prefer to be doing.

     Art, of course, is the love of my life. But a guy's gotta do more than just draw, right? So to show folks I'm more than just some loon who spends what little spare time he has hunkered over a drawing table, here are some links to a few of my other interests;

Home: A minor photo-essay with notes, on my parents, thier house and my home-town. This will hopefully slowly expand as I add other images that document my life in a little Townships town.

The Rover Project: One of my weaknesses is old cars, and most particularly old 4x4's and other "unusual" vehicles. The Rover Project pages document my purchase and ongoing restoration of a 1969 Land Rover. Roverphiles are a rabid lot, and Roverphilia is extremely contagious, so be warned: looking through these pages may infect you with a strange desire to go looking for battered hulks abandoned in farm fields, and run off to Home Depot for wrenches!

Militaria: Probably the most longstanding of my hobbies has been militaria - all the fiddly-bits that pertain to the art of War and life in the military. Armies have been around since time immemorial, so this is a pretty darned eclectic field, and can have something of interest for just about everyone.

Japanese Art and Animation: Very early on, I was struck by the difference of Japanese art and animation. Here's a look at some of the things I like, and some of the things I'm looking for.

The Toy Tank: A cute picture and some commentary about a local landmark in my area.

Wolf's Wish List: "If wishes were horses then beggars would ride...". Anyhow, people have asked me for a list of things I might want, no matter how improbable, so here it is.
